ABSTRACT
Trees and flowers are an intricate part of our daily lives. Their presence improves the quality of our lives in many ways: environmentally, economically, socially, culturally and physically through our health and well-being. Beautification in the community can have enormous benefits. Lake County Nursery committed itself to be more involved in shaping the future of our world through beautification. In September we co-hosted a Beautification Stewards Conference along with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company and CLEAN-LAND, OHIO at Lake Erie College. Lake County Nursery has been involved for more than 25 years with various beautification projects throughout local communities, it was a project at Lake Erie College that was our "awakening" as to just how powerful an impact beautification can have on people's daily lives. People-plant involvements can add tremendous value to a community.
