ABSTRACT

Since the early 70’s the author has been developing environmental LIFE FRAMES-indoor/outdoor environments integrated with interactive programs and curricula. Beginning in 1981, the LIFE FRAMES have focussed on the creation of A LIVING LIBRARY, a network of international culture-ecology parks which promote horticulture, agriculture, and ecological awareness and involvement-locally and globally. The network of LIFE FRAMES made of individual branch LIVING LIBRARIES, is to be linked electronically using a variety of new communications technologies, forming an interactive planetary LIVING LIBRARY of diversity-ecological, cultural, and horticultural. The technology is meant to balance and counterpoint the non-mechanized forms of nature and to link us together around the globe promoting greater understanding and sensitivity.
