ABSTRACT
Consider the partial differential equation Δu = f. We wish to study the existence and regularity properties of solutions to this equation and equations like it. It turns out that, in practice, existence follows from a suitable a priori regularity estimate (to be defined below). Therefore we shall concentrate for now on regularity.
