ABSTRACT

FISHEYE Fisheye lenses are non-rectilinear, ultra wide-angle lenses. They were originally developed for meteorological usage to study cloud formations, as their extreme angle of view-in some cases up to 180 degrees-was able to take in the whole sky. In order to capture such a wide angle of view, they distort their images significantly. It’s this distortion that makes them a valuable addition to the surreal photographer’s toolkit.
