ABSTRACT
Interferometry has been used in problems such as length and displacement measurement (Chap. 4), testing of optical components and systems, surface profiling, roughness measurement, etc. The advantage of interferometry is that the measurement unit is the wavelength of light, so that there is an inherently high resolution. Resolution of a fraction of a wavelength is easily obtained.
