ABSTRACT
The objective of this book, is to provide a description of the broad range of techniques available for the analysis of nonlinear repeated measurement data. Central to this objective is a unified presentation of the various modeling and inferential strategies within a single general model framework. In this chapter, we introduce the hierarchical nonlinear model that forms the basis for the inferential methods discussed in the rest of the book.
