ABSTRACT
Hierarchical nonlinear models provide a natural setting for the analysis of data from pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies. Indeed, several of the inferential techniques discussed in earlier chapters were originally proposed in this context. For instance, the pioneering work of Sheiner, Rosenberg and Melmon (1972) provided impetus for development of many of the linearization methods described in Chapter 6.
