ABSTRACT

When the second tunnel parallel to the first one is excavated afterward, the first tunnel may receive some damage such as lining crack and wall deformation. When the tunnels are crossing faults, the damage may be very severe. In order to avoid the damage, an adequate measurement should be done for the prediction of tunnel movement for the first tunnel. Now we propose to use a new method for tunnel surveying system using CCD camera and photogrammetry. We shows an example in which 300 points were installed on the wall of the first tunnel and measured during construction of the second tunnel carefully. The results indicated that our new system is capable of measuring many points in the tunnel quickly, accurately, and safely,
