ABSTRACT

The effect of consolidation grouting is checked and evaluated on the high pressure tunnel of the underground pumping station of a water diversion project in China using the borehole elastic modulus test (BEMT), the results have shown that the grounting art used can not only have functions to increase the deformation parameter index of the surrounding rockmass but also effectively improve the anisotropic behavior of the rockmass. In addition, the checking result provides scientific basis for giving priority to choose a consolidation grouting art. The comparison of BEMT with the acoustic sounding method indicates that as another measure for choice, BEMT is effective for checking and evaluating the effect of consolidation grouting and gives the elastic modulus of rockmass that is of paramount importance and can not be obtained from the acoustic wave method. BEMT technique is the one worthy to be furthered.
