ABSTRACT

The ions and precipitates flotation of Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) in the presence at alkyl(C6 - C18) hydroxamic acids used as collectors was studied. The possibility of the application of these methods for the decontamination of the diluted aqueous systems (106 – 10−3 M), represents a good opportunity for simple, rapid and highly efficient separation of these metals. This paper presents the application of the ionic flotation in the recovering the Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni (II) ions from waste water. Cu, Co, Ni ions concentrations in wastewater were: 349 mg/dm3, 324 mg/dm3 and 323 mg/dm3, respectively. The removal efficiency as a function of the pH and the molar rate AH:M(II) were also studied.. The maximum removal (99 %) was obtained for pH range between 6.5 – 6.7 for Cu(II), 8.5 – 10.5 for Co(II) and at 9.0 for Ni(II).
