ABSTRACT

In the case of the non-ferrous ores’ flotation, the presence of heavy metals’ ions inside the flotation pulps’ liquid phase leads to minerals’ flotation properties’ modification and influences the flotation process. This paper presents a few experimental measurements with respect to the surface properties of pure minerals (galena and chalcopyrite) in the presence of ions like Pb2+, Zn2+, (Cr2O7) 2+, Fe3+, Cu2+, being analyzed the variations of the quantity of the collector adsorbed on the mineral surface, of the pH, of the reduction-oxidation potential, of the surface tension, and also the influence on the flotation’s results
