ABSTRACT
The paper is related to the open pit lignite mining technology and its impact on soil. The anthropic activities in the Oltenia County have produced essential modifications on the geo-morphological structure of the zone and the partial or total destruction of the ecological equilibrium. All these mutations exert negative influence on the eco-systems, and the mining companies’ task is to solve the problems of land reclamation and ecological rehabilitation. These acting principles are pre-requested conditions for obtaining positive economical and ecological results.
