ABSTRACT

knowledge of the spacing and size of discontinuities in a rock mass is of considerable importance for the prediction of rock behaviour. In order to characterise rock slope stability and reliability assessment it is necessary to evaluate discontinuities and measurement of discontinuity spacing, in this study the area is segmented according to statistical homogenity of rock mass. Scanline surveying on spacing in three direction is carrying out then statistical classification and at the end fitting the best curve give negative exponential and log-normal as the best distributions for different directions.
