ABSTRACT

Milk reception or milk delivery refers to the accepted transfer of raw milk from the farm by a dairy. In the reception section, the tankers are discharged and the transport facilities are cleaned. Milk reception consists of three basic processes: Determination of the raw milk quantity, Evaluation of the raw milk qualify, Cleaning and disinfection of the transport facilities. In the context of milk reception milk returns also take place. In plants with tank and churn reception, both types of processing lines are sometimes combined. In many milk tankers, electronic systems are used that permit high reliability and precision for data monitoring and further data processing. The quantity of fat in raw milk or in many other dairy products cannot be determined by simple weighing, since it exists mostly in the form of an emulsion and cannot be separated in its pure form.
