ABSTRACT
This procedure describes a general method for the collection, dissolution and determination of trace metals in industrial and ambient airborne material. The samples are collected on filters and treated with nitric acid to oxidize the organic matrix and to dissolve the metals present in the sample. The analysis is subsequently made by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS).
