ABSTRACT
Particulate matter is collected from the air on a 20 × 25 cm (8″ × 10″) glass fiber filter. Nitrates are extracted with water. The nitrate in the acidified extract is reacted with brucine to form a color which is determined spectrophotometrically at 410 nm (1,2,3,4).
