ABSTRACT
John Franklin: Welcome to the Workshop on Fragmentation Measurement. Those attending the “live” workshop and short course in Montréal this August will receive this volume in place of, or as well as, the usual course notes. Although requiring considerably more effort than notes to produce, a book seemed like a good idea. Whereas a workshop is of somewhat limited scope, lasting only a few days and reaching only a small audience, a book is more durable and more accessible particularly in these days when travel to conferences has become something of a luxury.
