ABSTRACT
This paper discusses the joint effort between Dyno Nobel and Inco Limited to introduce blast fragmentation analysis to the underground mining operations and utilization of the data as a means of quality control, operation base lining and optimization. The methods used for image acquisition and a list of the hardware employed are discussed as well as an account of the sampling techniques employed and the experience gained in image acquisition in an underground environment.
