ABSTRACT

Based upon information/instruction relative to the production schedule established by production planning and scheduling, production activities are implemented. This implementation stage of production is often not carried out in accordance with the schedule/instructions, even when the planning stage has been well established using exact and high-level analytical methods. The quantity to produce and the time or due date identified at the planning stage are the production standards at the implementation stage. A production control system works more effectively if actual data of production performance are acquired as quickly and accurately as possible. Breakdown of a facility will be lessened as the amount of preventive maintenance increases; the associated maintenance cost increases and failure cost decreases. As the production facility deteriorates during its use, the maintaining and operating expenses rise, resulting in decreased revenue.
