ABSTRACT

World fertilizer production and consumption are expected to continue to increase, but at declining annual percentages. The overall ability of a soil to support vigorous crop growth by ensuring an adequate supply of plant nutrients and moisture, and by providing favorable conditions for root growth and development. A substance containing no primary plant nutrient, which is added to fertilizer to reduce or adjust its analysis to that which was guaranteed and/or to improve its physical properties. This chapter discusses some of the major organizations that hold regular or occasional meetings at which papers dealing with fertilizer technology are presented and discussed, and therefore provide a source of information for those who wish to keep up to date on fertilizer technology. The Fertilizer Industry Round Table is an informal nonprofit organization for the discussion of practical problems of fertilizer producers and distributors in the United States.
