ABSTRACT
In this chapter we introduce the notion of ‘affine space’, which generalizes the ordinary plane and space we are familiar with. To any affine space there is associated a vector space which is given as part of the definition. In affine spaces (or ‘affine geometry’) one studies exclusively those geometric properties which can be deduced by using vectors.
