ABSTRACT
Landslides are serious hazard all over the Carpathians. However, all the 12 contributions are focused on the West Carpathians. The West Carpathians belong to the alpine orogenic system with zonal complex geologic structure. Geology, landslide types, their distribution, frequency, assessment and monitoring are discussed in the paper.
