ABSTRACT

The underground water has a very important influence on the development of the gravitational slope movements. The underground water effects directly by its flow and pore pressure, or indirectly by lowering of shear strength of soils. The direct source of ground water are precipitation. They we can evaluate their relatively easy and therefore many authors try to find out simple relation between precipitation and origin of landslides. On the other hand, another natural factors have their influence on the landslides. They are evaporation, saturation of unsaturated zone, meeting of snow cover, a.s.o. Presented paper deals with the complex assessment of the influence of the climatic factors on the origin or reactivation of landslides in Slovakia.
