ABSTRACT

A long-term monitoring of slope movements makes it possible to identify the causes of their initiation and to evaluate effectiveness of corrective measures. A landslide near Vel’ká Causa village (central Slovakia) was monitored since its activation (spring 1995) by a variety of monitoring methods. The monitoring measurements also recorded the changes resulting from progressive application of corrective measures. The evaluation of these monitoring results made it possible to judge the effectiveness of the applied corrective measures and to identify the less stable parts of the landslide complex.
