ABSTRACT

Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU, has in cooperation with Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute(FFPRI) Landslide Laboratory, made investigations of the interaction between slide activity, pore pressure and weather parameters for a quick clay deposit in Roesgrenda, Verdalen county in Mid-Norway since November 1996. The site have had three slides between March 1995 and July 1996, and several slides in the investigation period. Analyses of the weather influence on the pore water pressure and slide activity show that precipitation of different intensity has no significant influence on pore pressure, and slide activity seems more likely to be related to release of suction through periods of dry weather.
