Quantitative risk assessment for slopes and landslides – The state of the art

This paper presents the outcomes of discussions at the Workshop on Landslide Risk Assessment, held by the IUGS Working Group on Landslides, Committee on Risk Assessment, in Honolulu, February 1997. It gives a broad framework for Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for landslides, discusses the state of the art, advantages of QRA, and assessment risk criteria, and details issues requiring research and development.
