ABSTRACT

Recent research in Britain, sponsored inter alia by the European Union, has shown that there appears to be an increasing incidence of of the reactivation of landslide activity in SE England. In part, this reflects trends in climate change, in which rainfall is more concentrated in the winter months, as well as becoming more intense (i.e. is concentrated into fewer, larger magnitude, events). It also reflects changes in land-use, especially in agricultural areas.
