ABSTRACT
The statistical literature contains a number of different mathematical formulations of ridge regression estimators. These include showing how the ridge estimator is:
a Bayes estimator (BE);
a the mixed estimator;
a minimax estimator;
a point on an ellipsoid closest to a point in the parameter space.
