Why We Should Focus on Families in Policymaking, and Why We Don’t
Why do we need a book on family policy ? This chapter begins by de-coupling family policy into its component parts: Why families? Why policy ? The main focus of the chapter is the connection between families and policy , basically whether families are a mainstream consideration in the normal course of policymaking . The chapter examines why families are marginalized in policy decisions and what we can do about it.
