ABSTRACT
Cretaceous rifting in Central Africa was polyphase. It was initiated during the Neocomian and after a change in the stress regime during the early-middle Aptian, rifting terminated near the end of the Albian. After a period of sag subsidence, inversion tectonics occurred during the Santonian.
