ABSTRACT

The Igla Formation in Wadi Igla was deposited in a NNE-SSW trending dextral strike-slip pull-apart basin. The formation unconformably overlies the Hangaliya Complex, pink Younger Granite, Dokhan Volcanics and pale felsite. Greatest deposition and felsite emplacement occurred in the south with pale granites, felsites and six suites of mafic dykes cut the formation, mostly pre-dating the end of strike-slip deformation.
