ABSTRACT
Soil compaction with the blasting method is an extremely effective way of increasing subsoil bearing capacity and decreasing subsoil deformability under static and dynamic loads.
Compared to other soil compaction methods, the blasting method has considerably lowered costs and shorter lead lime for soil improvement. It should be pointed out that the blasting method of application is the only way of improving bearing capacity in some cases.
Soil compaction using the blasting method, especially cohesive soil compaction with elongated charges, is relatively unknown in the world of building practices. The elaboration in this paper should help in its wider popularization.
