ABSTRACT
The main reason for arch section strengthening by rock bolting is the stability improvement of a face/gate road intersection and smaller gate road closure behind the face.
The types of gate road support strengthening depending on roof properties are described. Analytical and numerical methods of face/gate road are presented.
Site observations from mines are also reported.
