ABSTRACT
The present paper proposes a geotechnical classification of the rock mass with alteration of the “variegated beds” type which is based on the verified geological, lithological, petrological and physical properties of the rocks and coal found in the above beds. The proposed classification can be used for the description of those parts of the rock mass where information from exploratory wells, boreholes drilled in the mine other workings is not available.
