ABSTRACT
Heterogeneity of crystalline rock masses causes serious construction complications in this type of rock environment. The crystalline rock mass at the pumped storage power plant Ipeľ was subdivided into seven geotechnical types based on their geotechnical properties. This subdivision was the basis for the successful design of PSPP’s Ipeľ underground structures.
