ABSTRACT

The paper describes the integrated software package DEST intended for numerical modeling of a wide class of geomechanical problems. It is based on discrete media approach and realizes both implicit and explicit integration schemes of blocks’ movement. For facilitation of rock mass models creating the multifunctional system of the model project support was developed. The patterns of objects typical in mining and geotechnical engineering are widely applied within models. The package is provided by the advanced graphic interface ensuring obviousness both at creating of a model and at processing of obtained data. The authors describe the unified technique of modeling. It is accompanied by examples of software application at solution of real problems. The most interesting are the studies of roof collapse at coal mining and interaction of a long-wall support with unstable roof.
