He introduces a new idea which we have not met with before, though we shall meet it again in the work of Hal Stone and Sidra Winkelman. He believes in deliberately creating a Chairman of the Board. This is a character who will stand outside the rest of the subpersonalities, and make decisions about how to handle them. But he makes it clear that it is no part of the job of this functionary to exclude or eliminate any of the characters.
