Equinumerosity/equipollence Term of set theory. Sets are said to be equipollent, or equinumerous, whenever they have the same number of members. More precisely, sets are equipollent whenever there is a bijection between them. Equipollence is a foundational notion for Cantor's treatment of transfinite cardinal numbers. See Cardinality.
