ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with first-order differential equations. It helps the reader to identify a differential equation and be able to state its order and degree, and recognize the standard form of three basic types of first-order differential equation. The chapter assists in solving variables separable, linear and homogeneous equations and applying simple substitutions to convert equations into one of these three types. It discusses variables separable equations, linear equations, Bernoulli’s equation, homogeneous equations, and reducible equations. The chapter also demonstrates how to solve practical problems in circuits and vehicle braking.
