ABSTRACT
It is always difficult for an author to write about his own work in an unbiased manner. Either he is too modest or too assuming. In addition, it is not simple to describe the genesis of a new concept and its motivations without invoking a few personal experiences. So let me begin with what I think was the beginning of the ECRIS story.
