ABSTRACT

Today's large consulting organizations, such as Accenture, CapGemini, McKinsey & Co, etc., all invest considerable amounts of both time and money in competence and knowledge development. In all these efforts to develop and share knowledge within the consulting organization, detailed methods and tools, i.e. standardized approaches and checklists for how to carry out specific activities, play a role, although to a varying extent (Hansen et al. 1999).
