ABSTRACT
Technology is becoming pervasive in all areas of life, and the greatest impact is arguably in education. This is not only because of the myriad of ways technology can be used to enhance or fundamentally change education, but because of the impact of the introduction and use of technology on future generations and their ability to function in an increasingly technology-driven society. “Conceptions of the skills and knowledge children will need to become successful adults and the relevant educational experiences they should encounter while attending school” have changed as a result of the “technological revolution,” leading to technology becoming a major current focus of education policy and reform (NCES, 2000, p. 2).
