Acquired Dyslexia

Some people whose reading presents cause for concern are people who have never been good readers. They begin to learn to read and their read-ing abilities continue to improve, but their reading is never adequate. Other people's reading merits cause for concern for quite a different kind of reason: They are people who have achieved a perfectly adequate level of reading ability, but subsequently have lost some (or even all) of their reading skills. This chapter is about such losses.
