Dying Responsibly: Reflections on These Commentaries

Churchill helpfully distinguishes responsibilities to others from responsibilities to self and reminds us that we may need to end our lives in order to remain true to ourselves. I will return briefly to responsibilities to self. But my focus here will be on responsibilities to others. Much more still needs to be said about a death that is respon­ sible to others.
