ABSTRACT

What would a duty to die do to families? This is a critically important question to which we do not have the answer. The idea is still far too new and also too confined within its academic birthplace. Undoubtedly, it would have different effects in different familieseven happy families are not all alike. I decided to ask my family. Unlike most people, they have been living for several years now with the knowledge that one of their loved ones honestly believes that he might one day have a duty to die . . . for them.
