ABSTRACT

The University of Amsterdam has implemented a Crossover pro-gramme to motivate pre-university students, especially those school populations from a non-academic background, to attend higher education. The programme’s four themes are: developing one’s possibilities and investing in one’s future, choosing a course of study and a profession, studying at the university, and life at the university. University professors and school teachers in cooperation with student mentors and tutors are involved in this career guidance education programme. This chapter describes the first evaluation research findings among the pre-university students from this programme who now attend the University of Amsterdam.
