ABSTRACT
Sometimes it is luck that launches life's work. For me, it was an amazing piece of luck to both be at Carnegie Tech and be an undergraduate student of Professor Simon's, at the moment of the birth of the sibling sciences of artificial intelligence and information processing models of human thought! Luck was helped along by Herb Simon's always-open door. He led me in, to the most exciting of intellectual adventures.
