ABSTRACT
In this chapter we hope to demonstrate how the basic rules of arithmetic can be built up from simple, elementary number operations. This form of constructive mathematics can give us some further insights into how a system of mathematics is put together. Our goal with this chapter is to develop a set of procedures that implement these basic rules without the use of the built-in Logo primitives for arithmetic.
