Sociological readings of Marx

Any familiarity with sociological analyses or descriptions of the vast stock of classical sociological writings will reveal the con­ siderable range and variety o f readings and interpretations. This is especially evident in the case of Marx’s work both within sociology and Marxist thought. My interest here lies primarily in attempting to provide some clarification of the limitations and problems of particular sociological readings of Marx’s work.
