ABSTRACT
Individual differences in task performance may arise either from individual differences in the effectiveness or competence of computational mechanisms and/or from energetical or state controlling mechanisms determining the gain or signal-to-noise ratio of computational mechanisms. In this chapter, we concentrate on individual differences in computational mechanisms as revealed by both response time (RT), response accuracy, and Event-Related Brain Potentials (ERPs).
